FAQs and Cancellation Policy

For 1:1 or small group Sound Baths and massages please contact me directly via the "Contact" section or by telephone call or text.

CAN ANYONE PARTICIPATE IN A SOUND BATH?

It is extremely rare for anyone to have an adverse reaction to Sound Healing or Sound Therapy. It is categorised as a LOW RISK complementary therapy. However, to ensure my events remain as safe as possible, I feel it is good practice to provide this information before you attend the event.

As a precaution, it is not recommended that you take part in a Sound Healing session in the following situations:

1) When you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy

2) If  you have epilepsy, experience seizures within the last 3 months

3) If you have UNMANAGED mental health issues. Including, but not limited to: bi-polar, schizophrenia, complex trauma, PTSD or harmful thoughts towards yourself or others. (General stress, anxiety, depression are OK).

4) If you are intoxicated, ie under the influence of alcohol, prescription or recreational drugs.

In the following cases you may wish to speak with me before attending the event:

5) If you have metal plates or implants in your body. If you have had recent surgery, broken bones or other major physical injuries.

6) If you have a pacemaker fitted or have a heart condition.

7) If you suffer from tinnitus, or other conditions that could be triggered by sound.

AM I LISTENING TO MUSIC?

You aren’t listening to music in the formal sense as the sounds which come from instruments don’t incorporate melody, harmony, rhythm and arrangements like music does. The less-structured sounds in a Sound Bath help you listen without judgement. Sound Baths remove the desire for reaction and analysis that you might have with a pop song, and allow the listener to go deeper into their own experience.

IS IT MEDITATION?

It is not meditation as you may traditionally think of it, but the Sound Bath experience can be helpful for anyone who wants to access the benefits of meditation or a moment of relaxation. Instead of a meditative practice that requires you to sit up straight and have a point of focus such as the breath, all you have to do during a Sound Bath is listen. Most people then find themselves drifting off into a deeply relaxed state (Alternated State of Consciousness) with ease.  It allows participants to drop into the brain wave states associated with being on the cusp of sleep. The Alpha and Theta brain wave states are known to promote deep levels of relaxation, healing and are restorative in nature.

This beautiful healing treatment/therapy can be beneficial for both beginners and experienced people to traditional meditation.

WILL A SOUND BATH HELP ME SLEEP?

Most people report of a “good night’s sleep” after a Sound Bath which often extends into a calm, centered feeling the next day. A Sound Bath can help you access a reflective, self-healing state and invite calm into your daily life, and further promote healthy sleep.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR / BRING?

PLEASE DRESS COMFORTABLY. For group Sound Baths please bring a mat to lay down on, warm cozy comfortable blankets and pillows.

If you arrange a 1:1 treatment within the “Holistic Haven” all blankets etc will be provided.

I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH LYING ON THE FLOOR, CAN I STILL COME TO A SOUND BATH?

Lying on the floor is one way to experience a Sound Bath. If this is not possible, you are also welcome to sit on a cushion or chair.

CAN CHILDREN COME TO A SOUND BATH?

Children of all ages are welcome, and many have enjoyed the experience. However for some children, being quiet and still for any length of time is difficult and movement, fidgeting or talking is disruptive to other participants. You know your child best.  Please seek advice before booking.
